In life, there are three certainties: death, taxes and
politicians who cheat on their wives. Politicians take an oath to serve the
country with integrity when they’re sworn in, but most don’t seem to feel that
same obligation when it comes to their spouses. Well, all men are same, so they
say – regardless of whether he’s a farmer, a banker or a pastor. Aggrieved
women call them dogs but oh well, what do we say other than blame it on the
devil!
In almost every human
society, men who hold power have “for better for worse” numerous chances to be
unfaithful to their wives. “The best predictor of men’s infidelities is sheer
opportunity, and men with power have remarkable opportunity.” That’s why men
are always told “it’s not that you’re ugly, ni pesa tu hujapata”
Back in the 90s, new heads lingered around Bill Clinton, the
then US president who was rumoured to having an affair with one of the white
house interns. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a popular actor famously known as The
Terminator, was also caught up in controversies after he sired a child with
their maid.
So back to our home ground, Kenyan politicians are known for
their theatrics in the public domain. But behind their public innocence, their
dirty linen always gets to the public in one way or another. From the head of
state, to his deputy, a lot has been said questioning their loyalties. Here’s a
list of Kenyan politicians who have cheated on their beautiful wives opting to
ignore what word out there had in store for them.
